US country icon Dolly Parton has been vaccinated against the corona virus.
"Dolly receives a dose of her own medicine," wrote the 75-year-old on a video on Twitter.
The clip shows her being vaccinated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the US state of Tennessee.
A doctor there injected the vaccine from the US manufacturer Moderna into her right upper arm.
Last year Parton donated one million dollars to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the US state of Tennessee.
Among other things, research on a corona vaccine was carried out there in cooperation with Moderna.
"I'm a very proud girl today - knowing that I was involved in something that will help us get through this crazy pandemic," Parton said recently.
Parton said she was absolutely thrilled to finally be vaccinated.
In the video, she sang a repositioned version of her hit song "Jolene" as "Vaccine".
She wanted to be some fun with it, but she was "dead serious" about the vaccinations.
All "cowards" should take heart and get vaccinated, Parton urged their followers.
