According to his daughter-in-law Camilla, the health of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, has "improved slightly".

The 99-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II is doing a little better, but sometimes still suffers from pain, said the wife of heir apparent Charles during a visit to a London vaccination center.

Prince Philip has been hospitalized since February 16.

At first it was said from Buckingham Palace that it was a "precautionary measure" because he had felt uncomfortable.

A few days later there was talk of an infection.

On Monday, the 99-year-old was transferred to the state St. Bartholomew's Clinic in London, which also enjoys a high international reputation as a heart center.

The news heightened general concern about the prince's health.

It is not known exactly what Prince Philip is suffering from.

His stay in the clinic should not be related to Corona, Prince Philip and the Queen have both already received a first vaccination.

Hospitalization "at least until the end of the week"

The palace said on Monday that the doctors would "continue to treat an infection and also carry out tests and observations for pre-existing heart problems."

The 99-year-old responded to the treatment, but had to stay in the hospital "at least until the end of the week."
