Last week the FedEx messenger brought me a letter from Israel.
Inside were a couple of blank checks from my Israeli bank that I was supposed to sign for my tax advisor in Tel Aviv, as well as an invitation from the German Federal President.
It was a pretty card with a federal eagle embossed in gold; my name had been entered in a fountain pen.
It was about an event called "From the Children of the Peaceful Revolution" that began on February 21st at eleven o'clock in the Frannz Club in Berlin.
February 21st, 2020. The invitation had taken a year to reach me.
It was certainly not because of the Deutsche Post.
I have no idea what to do with the letters in Israel.

There is no recognizable system.
Maybe they just treat our mail so special.
Let them wait, in a room with flickering neon light, sounded in an endless loop of "Up on the yellow car", sung by one of Steinmeier's predecessors, Walter Scheel.
There are enough reasons.
