(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 04 - A new territorial counter for microcredit in Rome.
The mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi and the president of the national institution for micro-credit Mario Baccini visited him this morning.
The branch was established thanks to the collaboration between Roma Capitale and the National Institute for Microcredit (Enm).
The counter is located in the messiah rooms available by the Municipality, which has also provided for the provision of personnel who in recent months have carried out an ad hoc training course.
The opening takes place following the protocol of understanding signed in November between the national body for microcredit and Roma Capitale, to promote and develop microcredit programs, financial education and corporate culture with a view to supporting the economic and social fabric of the city following the health epidemic.
At the basis of the initiative, the creation of a fund for microcredit, allocated in the budget of the Capitol, equal to 3 million euros.
"Work is the priority. With this initiative, we are creating an instrument for relaunching work and the economy.
We support and protect the smallest or most troubled realities, we use all the means available to give oxygen to shopkeepers, small entrepreneurs, traders and their families.
But not only that: we counteract in every way the risk that the subjects affected by the crisis may yield to usury or end up in the arms of criminal organizations ", says Raggi." With this initiative the Rome model is born - explains Mario Baccini - because the model officially comes to life of social microcredit that can be used by the hundreds of people today affected by the crisis and the pandemic but who have the dignity and the courage not to give up and who do not have to bend to the roughness of the moment ".
