(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 04 - Several cities in Brazil last night recorded protests with pots (so-called 'panelacos') against President Jair Bolsonaro: local media have reported that the protests criticized the government's actions in the struggle to the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to banging on pots from windows and balconies, protesters also shouted 'Out of Bolsonaro'.
According to testimonies and videos published on social media, the 'panelacos' took place, among others, in the capitals of SanPaolo, Porto Alegre, Brasilia, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro. Protests against the head of state took place on the day Brazil broke the record for Covid-19 deaths in a single day. According to the Ministry of Health, 1,840 new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the total death toll to almost 260,000. (HANDLE).
