Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's 99-year-old consort, underwent "successfully" a minor heart surgery yesterday at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London.
Buckingham Palace announced this by referring to "a procedure", not an actual operation and specifying that Philip - who was introduced with a stent in 2011 - will remain hospitalized for an indefinite period.
"The Duke of Edinburgh - reads a note - has successfully undergone a heart procedure for a pre-existing condition. His Royal Highness will remain in the hospital for therapy, rest and recovery for a certain number of days".
