The cinemas are at the bottom of the food chain of cultural institutions that are expected to open, and there is currently no date for the opening of the halls or approval to sell popcorn, but here is good news for big screen enthusiasts - Tel Aviv Cinematheque announces the opening of the hall.

It will take place on March 8, in honor of International Women's Day, which will launch Women's Cinema Week, which will open screenings in front of the big screen with screenings of Israeli directorial films, documentaries and feature films.

On the opening day, the documentary "A Woman Sits on the Director's Chair" will be screened at 19:00 - in which 26 women who directed feature films in Israel share stories from the director's chair, and at 21:00 a pre-premiere screening of the Ben Rafael Foundation's feature film "The End of Love", which includes a meeting With the director - about a remote control contact of a loving couple that is deteriorating.

In addition, there will be a special launch of the Cinematheque magazine, dedicated to fifty years of female cinema edited by Smadar Zamir and Israel Encouraging, and it will include a collection of 100 cinema posters.

More films to be screened: "Woman" (documentary) - a cinematic archival work that evokes the miracle of a wild and daring femininity of dozens of heroines and an encounter with the director Israela encourages;

The film "King David is Alive" (documentary) and a meeting with director Yael Leibowitz;

The film "Nico the Dreamer" (documentary) - about the theater's creator and fringe father Nico Nitai, and a meeting with director Shira Farber, the film "Koda to the Captain" (documentary) - about a captain who embarks on a final voyage on a cruise ship and a meeting with director Keren Alexandroni;

Disturbed film club in memory of comedian Cloris Litchman (directed by Alon Gur Arieh) about the great comedians of cinema + screening of a new digital copy of "Young Frankenstein", pre-premiere of the Oscar-nominated feature film for the foreign film "Where Are You Going Aida?"

- A breathtaking film that connects in an extraordinary way between the personal story and the historical-general story at the height of the war in Bosnia;

The film "Children" - winner of the Best Documentary Award at the Jerusalem 2020 Festival, pre-premiere of the British feature film "Undisciplined" - for the true story of a feminist protest at the heart of the most feminine event there is.

All activities will take place in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and entry for those with a green label only.
