(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 04 - The little things: the apparently invisible traces, the feeling, which we sometimes dangerously ignore of an imminent danger, the instinctive choices that seem irrelevant ("the devil is in the details" one of the characters remembers).

These are the elements behind Up to the last clue (original title The Little things, Lepiccole cose), the sulphurous thriller by John Lee Hancock with three Academy Awards Denzel Washington, Jared Leto (who for his performance received a Golden Globe nomination and at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Non-Protagonist Actor) and Rami Malek, arriving in Italy in digital exclusive from Friday 5 March, available with Warner Bros for premium purchase and rental on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Youtube, Google Play, TIMVISION, Chili, Rakuten TV, PlayStationStore, Microsoft Film & TV and premium rental on SkyPrimafila and Infinity.

Taking up a screenplay begun 30 years ago, John Lee Hancock, a director who with a predilection for true stories (from Saving Mr Banks to The Founder), stages an original journey, set in the 90s in various obsessions.

Adominate is that of Deputy Sheriff of Kern County, Joe "Deke" Deacon (Washington), a former Los Angeles police detective, who never got over the trauma of a vicious unsolved crime.

The man finds himself in Los Angeles, where he agrees to help the ambitious sergeant Jim Baxter (Malek) of the homicide squad, in the hunt for a serial killer who kills women and leaves them in studied poses.

The main suspect gives way to a story that offers no solutions but breeds doubts.

Deacon eBaxter focus their attention on Albert Sparma (Leto), an enigmatic appliance deliverer, with a spirited gaze, a Satan Manson look and an arrogant faraway.

"You have Denzel Washington, who to me is like Brando and Mozart put together, plus Rami Malek, who had just given a beautiful performance as Freddie Mercury. It's hard to say no to a project like this," Leto told the Los Angeles Times.
