"The magic is there": the Enfoirés on TF1, without an audience but with envy

2021-03-05T06:16:22.826Z

For the first time since their inaugural tour of 1989, the Enfoirés had to play in front of an empty hall last January. More motivated

They did it!

And they promise it.

It is a “unique” show that the Enfoirés have prepared for the benefit of the Restos de cœur and which will be broadcast this Friday evening (at 9:05 pm) on TF 1 and France Bleu.

Covid obliges, for the first time since their debut in 1989, the forty artists had to play and sing without an audience.

A very hard blow for the association created by Coluche.

And a challenge that the troop succeeded in meeting.

The show was recorded from January 14 to 17 in Lyon, but Anne Marcassus still talks about it with a lot of emotion.

“Frankly, it was not a given.

We worked a bit without a net.

However, I have never seen artists so united and motivated.

We had to go very fast and they gave 300%.

"For the producer and artistic director of the most watched entertainment show (over 9 million followers), the 2021 edition was" an incredible human adventure ".

"I felt a very strong unity in Lyon, abounds Christian Jeanpierre, who has been making a documentary behind the scenes of the Enfoirés for twenty years

(Editor's note: the new one will be broadcast on March 13 at 1:30 p.m. on TF 1)

.

The artists are going through a very complicated time - most of them were coming back on stage after a blank year and hadn't seen each other for a year - and they really realized how lucky they are to be in this. troop.

Especially the Youngs.

The energy absent in the room, they went to seek it in their eyes, their solidarity.

With the wind from the front, they stood together.

And it was moving.

"

"We found solutions"

This year, the show entitled "Beside you" has reinvented itself to compensate for the absence of spectators.

"The magic is there, with a lot of laughter and surprises", promises Anne Marcassus.

And two newcomers to the company, Kev Adams and Vianney.

The camera followed the artists backstage and a “question box” collects their reactions as they leave the stage.

Among the 26 paintings - 14 songs and 12 sketches - presented, cover versions of “If it was enough that we love each other”, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman for Céline Dion, “Lettre à France” by Michel Polnareff and “Paris Seychelles ”by Julien Doré, a sketch inspired by“ the Flame ”and a parody of“ France has an Incredible Talent ”.

As for Véronique Sanson last year, a tribute is paid to Francis Cabrel.

He was finally unable to come, but everyone was touched when he sang his song “Des hommes simili”.

Among the difficulties encountered in January in Lyon, the artists could not as usual polish their show through seven concerts.

“Normally, we run around, we test our jokes with the public to be on top on D-Day

(Editor's note: the recording took place on the last three shows)

, recalls Lorie, who signs her 20th participation.

There, we turned table by table for four days.

It's going to look more like a TV show this year.

It does not matter, we have found solutions.

"

"The solidarity was so strong that we got there!"

The other challenge was to remedy the lack of atmosphere.

No audience, no adrenaline, the participants feared.

So they adapted.

“When the heart and the desire are there, we always manage to do beautiful things.

It just takes three times more energy, laughs Patrick Fiori, one of the pillars.

We went to look for the emotion elsewhere and you will see, the spectacle is atomic bomb.

"We value the viewer who will take his place in the show," adds Mimie Mathy, another essential.

For the comedians and their dozen behind-the-scenes writers, the challenge was also sizeable.

“We gave ourselves a thousand times more to make it happen to the other side of the screen,” Inès Reg and Tarek Boudali proclaim with one voice.

More than ever people need to laugh, sing and dance.

"Far from the eyes, close to the heart, continues Nolwenn Leroy.

The mood was of course different, but rarely did I feel so close and happy to be together.

Putting on this show seemed impossible to us, whereas the Restos du cœur have never needed us so much.

Solidarity was so strong that we got there!

One last example, but so telling.

That of Jean-Louis Aubert, 65, operated on the heart last July and faithful to the appointment of his friend Coluche despite the contrary opinion of his doctors.

"They were afraid that I screw up their job but I came anyway", laughs the dean of the band.

The sanitary protocol was very strict and this small world, that is to say nearly 600 people, lived in "a sanitary bubble" with daily PCR tests. "There has been no case of Covid", welcomes Anne Marcassus. Despite the pandemic, we have not betrayed Coluche, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Véronique Colucci. "
