Dolomiti Superski archives the 2020-2021 winter season which never took off.
"Losses range between 90-95% of turnover for those who work in both winter and summer and 100% for those with a purely winter vocation, bearing in mind that in our sector incompressible costs are 72%", explains Andy Varallo, president of the ski consortium.
At this point Dolomiti Superski is already focusing on the summer season which in 2020, despite the pandemic, had given good results.
The first Dpcm of the Draghi government extends the closure of the ski lifts and the ban on their use by amateur skiers, until 6 April.
"After the Immaculate Conception, Christmas, New Year and Carnival, now Easter is also missing, the last recurrence of the winter season in which the practice of skiing could be combined with a few days of vacation", Varallo points out.
Dolomiti Superski with its affiliated ski areas, takes note of this and renounces an opening for a few days after 6 April.
However, the consortium looks confidently towards the summer season.
"In times of Covid, the mountains guarantee ample space and we hope, thanks to vaccines, to also embrace international customers and restore optimism to operators".
