The former mayor of Milan Carlo Tognoli died, he was 82 years old

The former mayor of Milan and twice minister Carlo Tognoli died this morning in the Lombard capital.

Bobo Craxi announces it: "Carlo Tognoli, a piece of Milanese history, of Socialist history and also of our life that goes away, a great pain", he wrote on Twitter.

Tognoli was 82 years old and in November he had been hit by covid, while he was hospitalized at the Gaetano Pini hospital for a fracture of the femur. Always a member of the PSI, Tognoli was mayor of Milan for 10 years, from 1976 to 1986, before becoming an MEP and then a deputy. He was then minister for the Problems of the Urban Areas of Tourism and Entertainment until 1992, and then left all political office.
