The former mayor of Milan and twice minister Carlo Tognoli died this morning in the Lombard capital.
Bobo Craxi announces it: "Carlo Tognoli, a piece of Milanese history, of Socialist history and also of our life that goes away, a great pain", he wrote on Twitter.
Tognoli was 82 years old and in November he had been hit by covid, while he was hospitalized at the Gaetano Pini hospital for a fracture of the femur. Always a member of the PSI, Tognoli was mayor of Milan for 10 years, from 1976 to 1986, before becoming an MEP and then a deputy. He was then minister for the Problems of the Urban Areas of Tourism and Entertainment until 1992, and then left all political office.
