(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MAR 05 - The American e-commerce giant eBay will stop reselling on its platform of six books by Dr. Seuss, one of the most famous children's illustration series in the world, after the American publishing house that published them announced which would have left them out of the catalog because they "portray characters in a wrong and offensive way" with images considered racist.
The Wall Street Journal reported it.
The announcement by Dr. Seuss Enterprises sparked a bidding frenzy for books on eBay.
The main offer for a first edition of "On Beyond Zebra!"
it went from $ 14.99 on Monday to $ 810 on Tuesday.
"eBay is currently scouring our market to remove these items," a spokesperson for the company told the Wall Street Journal.
