To reach out to the most vulnerable and bridge the digital divide, the City of Paris has opened a vaccination center without re

Objective: to accelerate, everywhere.

To start a new phase of vaccination, the Paris town hall did not want to forget the working-class districts of Paris, and inaugurated a drop-in center.

Anyone aged 50 and over, suffering from co-morbidities, can go without an appointment to 84, rue Curial in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.

This temporary vaccination center open since Thursday will close its doors on Saturday evening.

Upstairs, a volunteer doctor determines if the patient is eligible for vaccination and can receive their first injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine immediately.

“We wanted to set up this center in a working-class neighborhood to pick up people at the bottom of the building.

Many are eligible for vaccination, without knowing it because of the social or Internet divide, ”explains Anne-Claire Boux, Deputy Mayor of Paris, in charge of city policy.

Door to door

"It was to meet these populations that we went door to door and distributed leaflets in the markets and in letter boxes."

This communication campaign seems to have worked.

Friday morning, many candidates for vaccination had learned of the existence of the center at the market or from a neighbor.

Accompanied by François Dagnau, mayor of the 19th century, Anne Hidalgo went there around noon.

“We were aware that a lot of people weren't going to get vaccinated because they didn't have a doctor or didn't go on Doctolib,” she explained.

"This is why we wanted to open this center".

The mayor of Paris took the opportunity to reaffirm that she had spoken "against confinement in Paris", and to propose solutions such as "multiply by four the number of vaccines".

Anne Hidalgo was pleased to have been heard by the government, which warned her "of the arrival of 11,000 additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine on Thursday evening".

11,000 doses which are in number "12,000 finally", according to his assistant, in charge of health Anne Souyris.

"His doses will be thawed that night and distributed throughout the weekend."
