WhatsApp lost many users after the criticism of the new data protection rules.

Indeed, WhatsApp has been busy lately, establishing many new features to make the service more attractive.
Examples are the dark mode and the new button, with which videos can be sent without sound.

But the developers at WhatsApp are already working on another feature that users should be familiar with.
Messenger introduced self-destructive messages back in November 2020.
If the function is activated, messages automatically disappear if a user does not open the app for seven days.
This option will soon also be available for photos.
The idea: Photos, memes or GIFs sent are deleted from both chat partners or in groups after a specified time.
The function was initially found in a beta version of WhatsApp, but it should come for iOS and Android, as

An export lock from WhatsApp is also to be set up.
Saving the photos would be impossible.
There is one catch, however: the sender of a photo is not yet warned if the recipient takes a screenshot of it.
But this function should also be made possible.

The new function of self-destructive photos should make WhatsApp even more intimate and private, as it is ideal for sending spicy and very personal content.
