Luca Abdel-Nour, a 17-year-old Egyptian, has been dancing at the Zurich Dance Academy in Switzerland for three years.

His love for dance dates back to the time when this student of the Oasis International School participated in a performance every year in this Cairo establishment, before being trained in jazz ballet, contemporary and hip-hop.

Also French by his mother, he was noticed around 12 years old, during the international internship in Châteauroux, France.

At school, his classmates knew about it.

“I talked about it openly, I was called all kinds of names but I didn't care.

I told them 'you do your thing, I do mine', ”he recalls.

He joined Europe two years later, for more intensive training.

“Each step has been difficult, each step is difficult and rewarding.

I would say it was difficult from the moment I left Cairo because when you leave very early, it's hard to leave your family and not see them like that for long periods of time, ”he says. -he, before adding that "it was all worth it in the end".

Today, the young dancer would like to "inspire other boys to do ballet if they wanted to, whether they come from Europe or the Middle East".

"And their parents should support them just as they would if their children wanted to play football," he says.
