(ANSA) - BARI, 07 MAR - An 18-month-old child of Chinese nationality died last night after being run over by the car driven by his father during a reverse maneuver.
It happened in a parking area on the Sp1 in Modugno, in the province of Bari. According to a first reconstruction, based on the story of the family, the child was in the street behind the car, and the father, who had not noticed it, put inmoto in reverse and overwhelmed him.
The carabinieri, coordinated by the prosecutor on duty Lanfranco Marazia, are trying to ascertain the dynamics of the facts, also verifying the presence of video surveillance cameras that could have immortalized the moment of impact, in addition to the surveys already carried out last night on the spot. After the accident, in a private car, the child was taken to the Giovanni XXIII pediatric hospital in Bari but, according to what we learn, he arrived already dead. The Prosecutor's Office will evaluate the autopsy in the next few hours. (HANDLE).
