(ANSA) - RIAD, 07 MAR - The Saudi-led military coalition has launched several air strikes against the Houthis-controlled capital of Yemen, Sanaa, after intercepting 10 drones launched towards Saudi Arabia by Iranian-backed rebels, according to reports from the Saudi state media.
Today's attacks are the first in several months, and follow actions against the Saudi kingdom attributed to the Huthi rebels, who have counted seven air strikes on the capital. Iraid were launched after the coalition announced it had intercepted 10 drones launched this morning against the Saudi kingdom by Yemeni rebels, in an escalation of attacks on Saudi territory. The drone launch has not been claimed but the official Saudi agency SPA has accused the Houthis, who have intensified the attacks on Riyadh and threatened the country with other actions. According to the coalition, hydrons were aimed at "civilian" targets, a choice Saudi Arabia warned was "a red line," the coalition said after the airstrikes on Sana'a.
