In the Bavarian town of Painten near Regensburg, a parcel carrier ran over a small child with his van.
The three-year-old child died after being run over by the reversing car, the police said.
As a result, the 42-year-old driver had previously delivered parcels to a residential building.
The accident happened when he wanted to leave the courtyard and overlooked the child behind the car while maneuvering.
According to the police, the critically injured child came to the Regensburg University Clinic in an ambulance helicopter while resuscitation was ongoing, but died there a little later.
The person who caused the accident suffered a severe shock.
