Switzerland: Eight-year-old boy had a fatal accident in a skiing accident in Saas Fee

A child died in an accident in the Saas Fee ski area. According to the police, the eight-year-old boy fell into a snowfield off the slopes.

An eight-year-old from Zurich had a fatal accident while skiing in Saas Fee in the Swiss canton of Valais.

The local police report that the boy "fell over a rock face onto a snowfield."

How exactly this happened has not yet been clarified, the public prosecutor has opened an investigation.

According to the police, the accident happened on Saturday shortly after 1.30 p.m. below the Längfluh mountain station.

Rescue workers tried to reanimate the boy at the scene of the accident.

However, he succumbed to his injuries.

As the police write, the boy was away from the marked runway with two adults and two other children.
