Agenas, 11 regions with ICUs beyond the critical threshold

- The weight of the pandemic in Italian ICUs continues to grow again, where the occupation of beds by Covid patients returns to reach, at national level, 29% or just one point below the defined critical threshold.

And 11 regions surpass it.

This is what emerges from the monitoring carried out by Agenas (National Agency for Regional Health Services) updated on 7 March, which shows, compared to the data of 1 March, a growth of 4% at national level and two more regions beyond the threshold.

The 11 regions that exceed 30%, or the level defined as 'critical' since once exceeded it is difficult to assist other non-Covid patients, are exceeded by: Abruzzo (40%), Emilia Romagna (37%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (33%), Lombardy (40%), Marche (42%), Molise (49%), PA of Bolzano (38%), PA of Trento (53%), Piedmont (32%), Tuscany (34%) , Umbria (58%).

As for the places occupied by Covid patients in hospital wards of infectious diseases, pulmonology and general medicine, the national share rises to 33%, still below the critical threshold of 40%, but 3 percentage points more than the data of the first. March.

In this case, the critical threshold is exceeded by 7 regions, or 2 more than a week ago: Abruzzo (43%), Emilia Romagna (45%), Lombardy (44%), Marche (52%), Molise ( 43%), Piedmont (40%) and Umbria (50%).

Meanwhile, the Regions split over the closures

.

The hypothesis of introducing more restrictive measures to limit the new spread of the pandemic, thanks to the variants, divides the governors, while the red zones multiply in the local area: starting in

Naples

, from 10 the provinces of

Fermo and Pesaro-Urbino

, Monday could also touch

Piedmont

.

The governor of

Veneto

, Zaia, warns that at the moment there are no further restrictions beyond the orange zone;

the president of

Liguria,

Toti, says he is "firmly opposed" to weighing down the measures.
