For 73%, the Covid pandemic has complicated their lives, increasing commitments and stress.
What affected the most was the increased workload: if on the one hand smart-working can be considered useful and functional, on the other hand the lack of interaction with colleagues, the continuous availability and the greater distractions from family needs do not help. to keep stress levels below the threshold. The same for housewives, who suddenly found themselves invaded in their 'work station'. Furthermore, 63% complain about the impossibility of finding time for themselves and, for 45%, it is impossible to meet all the daily commitments. "The pandemic has inevitably created imbalances, inconveniences and pressures that have changed our way of life and, in this scenario, the role that women have found themselves to be played is not to be underestimated - explains Eleonora Iacobelli, psychotherapist and president of EURODAP -. The need to manage the new relational and family dynamics that have arisen, from work to the care of children and the home, has led women to accumulate states of stress and anxiety and to adapt to a new daily life, where they can mitigate feelings such as sadness, depression and fear risk being dangerously overshadowed. In addition, smart-working and, in some cases, job loss (according to Istat statistics 99,000 women lost their jobs in the last year), have contributed to increasing the time women pass into the house ". Therefore, "if in the past managing all the different aspects of life was one of the main problems of women, - concludes the expert - now it has become even more complicated". (HANDLE).
