(ANSA) - PAPAL PLANE, 08 MAR - The Pope said that after a period in "prison" for anti-covid measures, he felt "revived" with this trip to Iraq, thanks to his relationship with the people.
"I feel different when I am away from the people", "I would like to restart the general audiences as soon as possible, let's hope the conditions are right. In this I follow the norms of authority, they are responsible and they have the grace of God to help us".
"There is a proposal for small general hearings, I have not decided", it depends on the evolution of the pandemic situation.
"After these months in prison, I felt a bit imprisoned, this is for me to relive, to touch the Church, to touch the holy people of God".
In the press conference, on the flight from Baghdad to Rome, a journalist asked him if he had posed the problem of Covid infections due to the gatherings created with his visit.
"I prayed a lot and in the end I made the decision freely - the Pope replied -, but it came from deep inside" and I thought "What makes me decide this way deals with the agent, and so I made the decision after prayer, with awareness of risks ".
On March 8, the Pope finally wished the journalists and launched an appeal: "We must fight for the dignity of women, they are those who carry on the story".
