We have all been exposed, especially this year, to the amounts of garbage hikers leave in the wild.

And it's not "they" or just "the ugly Israeli", but many of us, even those who clean up after them or put a garbage bag next to a tree or think they have cleaned, but left in cigarette butts or bottle caps in the field (because it is small and not seen).

Every holiday and weekend we enjoy the peace and scenery it has to offer, and in return, quite a few times, we leave it in a dirtier condition than it was when we arrived. Beyond the various ecological hazards that occur once every few months, picnic scraps, wet wipes and car tires are just a small example The traces that we, the Israeli travelers, leave behind us regularly. In the park, in the nature reserves and also on the street.

The "Clean the House" initiative was born with the aim of bringing the Israeli public closer to cleanliness in the public space. For about six months, developers, environmentalists and programmers worked together to Build an accessible and easy-to-use platform through which people from all over the country will be able to get to know, associate and engage in cleaning or environmental education activities wherever and whenever they choose.

"We understand that it is possible and desirable to bring in technology to help"

The flagship event of "Cleaning the House" is

a cleaning operation that will take place on Friday, March 19, 21 in

hundreds of centers around the country.

"The idea was born out of the need to bring the tradition of house cleaning before the Passover holiday to the public areas as well, because they are also part of the home of all of us," says Dan Liebschutz of the project's staff.

Participation in the event is open to everyone - with the help of the map on the website, anyone can join an existing cleaning center, or open and lead a new center themselves, in a place close to their home or heart.

How was the initiative born?

"We regularly attend various cleaning days and also spontaneously clean places where we travel. We thought of how to build something that would help streamline and assimilate public space cleanliness regularly and over time. After a good few months of thought we realized that technology can and should be introduced to help - and that's what That we did. "

Last month we ran into an unprecedented ecological disaster - a mysterious pollution that flooded 170 km of tarred beaches. "With the publication we immediately realized that we were required to deviate from the original plan we built, and assist in the joint effort to massively recruit many civilian volunteers," Dan explains. Whites have set up a dedicated site for cleaning the tar hazard, which will allow all environmental organizations in Israel to manage, update and recruit volunteers as needed and in real time.

What sets the initiative apart?

"The initiative is fully volunteered by a group of people Our small country suffers from it.

Entrepreneurs understand that cleaning operations are not the solution, but at the same time, they recognize the importance of the experience itself and the educational effect it produces.

Our intention is to allow people to connect together around public places and take care of them.
