Several thousand people demonstrated in Paris this Monday, March 8, international day for women's rights, between Port-Royal and République. The procession marked several symbolic stops, such as in front of the courthouse to denounce sexual assault, or the Place du Châtelet to evoke the precariousness of intermittent women. The demonstrators marched in particular behind a banner proclaiming "First of chores on feminist strike", the slogan this year being to denounce the injustices suffered by women, accentuated by the health crisis. Among the demands, many demanded equal pay for men and women and more recognition for front-line professions, with reference to these professions particularly exposed during the epidemic (nursing staff, cashiers, home helpers, etc.), and which are often exercised by women.
