The Corona rules have just been relaxed a little, but the number of guests at a children's birthday party in Bremen clearly exceeded the permitted level on Sunday: almost 30 people celebrated together there.
As the police announced, a notice was received in the afternoon that various people from different households had gathered in an apartment in the Blumenthal district.
It is currently only allowed for a maximum of five people from two households to meet.
However, children under the age of 14 do not count.
When the emergency services arrived at the Bremen apartment, they found 29 people who were apparently celebrating a child's sixth birthday.
Many of the guests were adults.
Multiple advertisements
Apart from the fact that such a gathering of people is currently prohibited anyway, those affected would not have kept any minimum distances or took any other hygiene measures, according to the police.
However, they would have shown their understanding and broke up the celebration.
The police pointed out the hygiene regulations to those present and filed several reports of administrative offenses.
In their press release, the police also appealed to the public to adhere to the measures taken to contain the coronavirus.
"It depends on each individual," they say.
"Protect your health and that of the people around you." Otherwise, it could be expensive for unteachable people.
Several police operations at parties on the weekend
In other federal states, too, the police had to move out at the weekend to break up larger events that violated the Corona requirements.
In Frankfurt am Main, around 500 young people celebrated in the Hafenpark.
In Saarbrücken, the police ended a birthday in a party room with 35 people.
In Freiburg, the officials dug a kind of "Corona casino".
In Westergellersen, Lower Saxony, the police stopped a boxing match in a barn with dozens of spectators on Saturday.
