(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 09 - People vaccinated against Covid-19, with antibodies or in possession of a negative test will be able to travel to Greece this summer: tourism minister Harry Theocharis said, according to the Guardian. Greece aims to kick off its vital summer season by mid-May, Theocharis said, speaking at the Itb fair in Berlin from the Acropolis Museum in Athens.

Tourism is a major source of income for the country, leading the applications for a European-wide certificate of vaccination to help unblock travel.

The sector accounts for about a fifth of the Greek economy and employs one in five workers, but last year the number of workers collapsed due to the pandemic. (HANDLE).
