Covid-19 in Moselle: a "slow improvement", but hospitals still under pressure

The health situation of the Moselle department, one of the most affected by the Covid-19, continues to "slowly improve" but the hospital structures remain "under very strong pressure", said on Tuesday the prefect and the director of the CHR of Metz-Thionville.

"The figures are dropping a little bit in general", she explained: from 200 Covid patients at the CHR "a few days ago, we went to 171", a decrease also observed "on all the structures of the department ”.

But "the hospital structures" remain despite everything "under very strong pressure", she insisted, in particular for critical care beds, "very, very high".

Some transfers of patients have taken place in recent days to Alsatian hospitals, she added, specifying that, currently, the rate of deprogramming of interventions in Moselle health structures, both public and private, was "around 50% ”.
