The “Rapid Fixpoint XT KIT” assembly set may no longer be used because the construction can come loose completely or partially from the roof due to screws that are too small and consequently “improperly secured”, warns the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) in a message.
The special thing about it: The Swedish manufacturer Thule had already warned against using the fastening system in the spring of last year.
However, many versions of the Fixpoint kits have not yet been exchanged at dealerships and service partners and are therefore still present in road traffic.

Owners of vehicle models in which the possibly defective structure is installed should refrain from further use of the stowage system before the defect has been remedied.
The model numbers 3049, 3073, 3123, 3130, 3136 and 3144 are affected by the Thule recall. Owners of the defective product will receive a refund of the purchase price or a free replacement if they are exchanged.
The corresponding margins for automotive accessories were sold in Germany between December 2019 and March 2020, the manufacturer describes in the communication.
