The discounter Netto is recalling a popular nut specialty.

This is the name given to naturally occurring mold toxins that have now been detected in a nut product from August Töpfer & Co. (GmbH & Co.) KG.
The "Clarky's natural pecan kernels" (200g) found their way onto the Netto shelves before exposure to the harmful poison was discovered.
The manufacturer strongly advises against consuming the product in question with the best before date 31.08.2021 and lot number L 47197.

Net recall: Consumption of the affected product can lead to liver damage
The discounter writes on its website that consumption can lead to health problems.
The liver in particular is attacked by the mold toxins.
The organ could be seriously damaged.
Netto and the manufacturer responded immediately and withdrew the product from sale.
However, if customers have bought the product, the discounter appeals not to consume the product concerned and to return it to the store.
The purchase price is reimbursed net, even without presenting the receipt.
Pecan kernels recall: Sales only took place regionally
Netto confirms on its own website that the unhealthy product was only sold regionally.
The pecan kernels were only offered in "a few branches in Düsseldorf and in the Heinsberg district".
Netto customers in the region should therefore check their purchase again to see whether the product in question found its way into the shopping basket.
The discounter confirms that further best-before dates, lot numbers or other Clarky's products are not affected by the recall.
