Former priest
Carlos Eduardo José
was acquitted by Justice, after being accused of abusing a teenager for 9 years.
The ruling of the Oral Criminal Court number 2 of San Martín was known this Tuesday at noon.
There were incidents outside the court.
"Lawyers and judges
are accomplices of a pedophile
. I can't believe it, I can't believe it," Maillín Gobbo, the complainant, said through tears, minutes after the sentence was known.
"How do they release someone who corrupts children? This is violence," he added and questioned those close to the accused, who celebrated the acquittal within the courtroom.
"It is a shame, the facts were never denied," said lawyer Héctor Silveira, the young woman's representative.
At least
three other women denounced the former priest for abuses
, and now they are waiting for the Justice to decide whether the causes prescribed or can move towards oral proceedings.
The religious had come to trial accused of abusing
between 1999 and 2008
a student of the parochial school that he directed -the San José Obrero Institute-, in Caseros.
He had been charged with "triple aggravated seriously outrageous sexual abuse."
Both the complaint and the prosecution had requested a sentence of 20 years in prison, while the defense had requested the statute of limitations or acquittal.
Mailin Gobbo said that the abuses were repeated between the ages of 12 and 21.
The complainant, Mailin Gobbo, said that the reported attacks were repeated between the ages of 12 and 21.
In the second year of high school, he decided to change schools, but he could not lose contact with the priest, who continued to come to his house as a friend of the family.
According to Mailín told
Clarín
in an interview published in 2019, at the age of 12 his mother found his intimate diary.
"I want Jesus to take me to heaven," he had written.
Her mom took her to a psychologist.
He went to various therapists.
Cysts grew everywhere.
"Your body speaks to you," said one of them.
As a teenager he began to drink alcohol, to have violent relationships.
At 20 a therapist managed to get the scenes back in his head.
Mailín told her parents about the abuse, who went to confront the priest: "I didn't do anything, she was affectionate with me," replied Carlos José.
His parents reported him to the Bishopric of San Martín.
Nothing happened.
At the age of 27 Mailín had a daughter and the images returned to her head.
This time she went to report him to the Tres de Febrero Women's Police Station.
The case reached a prosecutor's office where there were more complaints against Carlos José, who was arrested in July 2017. It was after he was a fugitive for a week -according to what turned out, he was hidden in a seminar-, for which the Justice denied him successive requests for release or house arrest.
