The debate about the sensational interview by Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry now has personnel consequences in Great Britain: One of Meghan's most vehement opponents, the British journalist and TV presenter Piers Morgan, has lost his job.

After a dispute over the interview on his program "Good Morning Britain" on British breakfast television, Morgan stormed out of the studio on Monday.

Morgan, who has been publicly attacking Meghan Markle for years, had expressed doubts about her descriptions of depression and suicidal thoughts on his show.

The Duchess had reported in a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey that the hostile tabloid coverage in Great Britain and the isolation within the Windsor family had led to dire emotional consequences for her when she was pregnant with her first child.

You didn't want to live anymore.

Morgan said on his Monday broadcast he didn't believe the Duchess, "I wouldn't even believe her if she read the weather report." His colleague Alex Beresford had called him to order and accused Morgan of continuing hostile attacks against Meghan too far.

Morgan stormed out of the studio angrily.

The British media watchdogs had received more than 41,000 complaints about Morgan.

The broadcaster ITV, which broadcasts the show "Good Morning Britain", announced that Morgan would no longer moderate the show in the future.
