After bending football, Canal + is tackling the cinema.
According to our information, the audiovisual group has challenged before the Council of State the ordinance published by the government on December 21, 2020, which transposes the Audiovisual Media Services (SMA) directive.
The point that annoys?
Article 28 of this ordinance which gave film professionals 6 months to reach an agreement on a new media chronology in order to make room for subscription video streaming platforms.

In the absence of agreement between the parties, the legislator reserves the right to decide the question itself by decree.
Worse, on January 28, a new decree was passed reducing the negotiation deadline to March 31, 2021!
