Roger Waters continues his war on Israel and his call for other artists to boycott it.

This time he turned to legendary musician Stevie Wonder, asking him to refuse to accept the Wolf Prize, which was recently announced to be awarded to him.

"Hi Stevie," Waters said in a video he uploaded to his Twitter account yesterday (Tuesday).

"I received an email from my friends in Canada and elsewhere who say that Israelis are trying to give you something called ... I think it's called the Wolf Prize. It's important bro. It's called the Wolf Prize, whatever the hell and I really do not care. But I actually remember turning to you "Once upon a time, when you were going to play a gig in Los Angeles. It was a show to raise money for the Israeli defense forces, so that they could continue to murder more innocent Palestinians and evade punishment."

The veteran bassist even wondered during the segment if he deserved to do a preliminary investigation before uploading the video to the network, but until he uploaded the video to Twitter he remembered what show it was, and added a caption to the video which said: "Stevie Wonder, Organized by Haim Saban in 2012.

Please refuse to accept the Israeli Wolf Prize in 2021. "

. @ steviewonder, with respect, you turned down Haim Saban's IDF fundraiser in 2012. Please turn down Israel's @WolfPrize_ in 2021.

Love

The video uploaded by Roger Waters

Waters seems to be referring to an event of the Friends of the IDF held in Los Angeles in December 2012, where the pianist was scheduled to perform.

In the video, Waters added: "I know you will not receive this Wolf Award and you should not either. This is an apartheid regime. This is Israel! Israel!", He shouts.

"You will do them 'White Washing' (an act of polishing or 'washing' injustices. AP) unbelievably to the extent that you receive the Wolf Prize."

Later in the video, Waters said the video he uploaded was taken late at night, showing a glass of wine he claimed to have drunk and admitted to himself that he was blabbering on and not speaking too logically.

"I remember you were little Stevie Wonder, when you were 13 and you were an amazing child prodigy," he concluded, saying "I still have a lot of respect for you."

This is another public appeal by a former Pink Floyd band member to artists with an affinity for Israel, or those who are about to visit it.

He has previously written for names such as John Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Eurovision contestants in the country and Tom York, lead singer of the band Radiohead, and called on them to refuse to perform in Israel.

This became a public debate and a public exchange of letters between the two, which ended with the band performing at the Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv in the summer of 2017.

The Wolf Prize has been awarded in Israel every year since 1978 for outstanding and groundbreaking achievements in the fields of art and science.

A month ago, President Reuven Rivlin announced his intention to present the award to pioneers in the fields of medicine, chemistry, to the Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth and, as mentioned, to Stevie Wonder.
