The "descriptions of the prosecution" are essentially correct: a Berlin brothel operator who is on trial for pimping, human trafficking and sexual abuse has partially admitted the allegations against him.
"If I have committed a criminal offense, I'm sorry," said a statement that one of the 55-year-old's defense lawyers read before the Berlin district court.
In total, the man is charged with 14 acts from 2016 to September 2020.
In his brothel in Berlin-Mariendorf, he is said to have offered group sex on a flat-rate basis.
There were always at least five suitors present, who were allowed to stay for as long and associate with as many women as they wanted.
The accused is said to have intentionally exploited the prostitute.
Despite the aggravating circumstances, the women were only paid for their working hours.
They would have received 50 to 100 euros a day "even though they had sexual intercourse with several men."
The 55-year-old had collected the entire admission price of the suitors of up to 110 euros - »whereby the visitor density fluctuated between 30 and 100 suitors a day«.
Brothel operator considers daily rates to be "appropriate"
The defendant has now announced that he considers the daily rate of around 100 euros to be "adequate compensation."
In his perception, all women "worked voluntarily" and were paid "appropriately".
He could "not understand" the allegation of human trafficking.
The man is also accused of having sex with a prostitute against her stated will in order to "test" her.
He is also said to have used the services of an underage prostitute in five cases.
The man knew the age of the then 16-year-olds.
