France's government spokesman Gabriel Attal speaks of a "shameful" act and an "absolutely tragic" case: after the body of a 14-year-old woman was found in the Seine near Paris, details are becoming known.

The youngster had already been discovered on Monday evening in Argenteuil, a parish near Paris, in the Seine.

A few hours later, a 15 year old boy and a girl of the same age were arrested.

The act was apparently preceded by a history between the young man and the victim: There had previously been a brief love affair, said prosecutor Éric Corbaux.

Afterwards, intimate photos of the victim were distributed.

Finally, at the beginning of March, there was a first physical confrontation between the person killed and the suspect.

14-year-old was apparently lured into an "ambush"

Before her death, the 14-year-old was lured into an "ambush," it said.

The suspect pushed her to the ground, kicked her and hit her.

"She was not passed out when they decided to throw her into the Seine, but she was unable to move," said Corbaux.

The girl probably drowned, the body was bruised numerous times.

"You have shown no immediate remorse," said Corbaux in a press conference about the two 15-year-old suspects.

You were transferred to an examining magistrate and the public prosecutor's office suspects murder.

Mother of the victim calls for a memorial march

The victim's family had called for a memorial march for their daughter over the weekend.

The mother demanded "justice" for her daughter in the French media.

She claims that her daughter was previously bullied by the two suspects.

The girl then went to the same private vocational school with the alleged perpetrators.

The suspect had confessed to his mother that evening and then ran off with his girlfriend.

The two face up to 20 years in prison.
