His derogatory remarks on the Meghan interview cost Piers Morgan the job. The Duchess is also said to have complained about the British moderator. He still shows no remorse.

Around three days after the first broadcast, the interview of US talk show host Oprah Winfrey with Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry in Great Britain is still causing a stir.

The focus is currently less on Meghan's descriptions of his own suicidal thoughts and racism in the British royal family.

It is more about the behavior of the British presenter Piers Morgan.

Morgan accused the Duchess of lying after the interview and thus received tens of thousands of complaints from the British media regulator Ofcom.

According to consistent reports, Meghan also submitted a letter of complaint herself.

This had addressed how Morgan's reaction to Meghan's statements about suicidal thoughts could affect people with mental health problems, reported the PA news agency.

It was not about his reaction to Meghan's accusations of racism against the palace.

First the Telegraph reported on Meghan's complaint.

As a consequence of the more than 41,000 complaints that Ofcom had received within less than 24 hours, Morgan had already lost his presenter job on the program "Good Morning Britain" on Tuesday evening.

Morgan had questioned Meghan's statements that she had suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy: "I'm sorry, I don't believe a single word she says." He would "not even believe her if she read the weather forecast to me." said the moderator.

The statements had already led to a scandal in the current program;

Morgan had left the show with the camera running.

Morgan does not want to take back statements

Morgan said on Twitter that he stood by his statements.

He had time to think about his statements, but still do not believe Meghan's statements, according to the moderator.

"Free speech is a hill I like to die on," wrote Morgan, thanking him for all the "love and hate."

He apparently interprets the excitement about his words as a success.

A few hours later he wrote, also on Twitter, that "Good Morning Britain" had exceeded the ratings of the BBC's competing program for the first time on Tuesday: "My job is done."
