(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 12 - The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, today received Mrs. Rosa Oliva at the Quirinale to whom he awarded the Honor of Knight of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. It is as written in a note from the Prime Minister.
Rosa Oliva, in 1960, won the appeal to the Constitutional Court, after the refusal to admit her to the competition for the prefectural career, as a woman. The Consulta's ruling in her favor was a historic decision and opened public competition to women as well. (HANDLE).
