Fans of Alexandre Astier now just have to cross their fingers and hope that the cinemas will be reopened by then.

"Kaameloot: first installment," the first of the films in the eponymous series, which should have been released last July, will be screened from July 21, 2021, the production announced in a press release on Friday.

For Kaameloot fans, it's still a few more months of waiting, since Alexandre Astier had announced the future release in ... 2009. The three films must be the continuation and the end of the six seasons of the series. , already broadcast from 2005. After several years of legal conflict, Alexandre Astier was finally able to start writing the trilogy in 2015. It was not until 2019 that filming began.

After a first teaser, published in early 2020 by Alexandre Astier on Twitter, the broadcast date of this first part had not stopped changing: first on October 14, 2020, it had been brought forward by two months to July 29, 2020. At the beginning of May 2020, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was decided to postpone it again to November 25.

It had finally been postponed, without any new date being given until then.

In France, cinemas have been closed since October 30, 2020. No date for a possible reopening has yet been announced, despite pressure from the cultural community.

After the first confinement, which led to their closure, the cinemas were able to reopen on June 22.
