Serious allegations against Klaus Dörr: Several employees of the Berliner Volksbühne accuse their directors of abuse of power and abusive behavior, as reported by the »taz«.
Ten women had filed a complaint with Themis, the trust agency against sexual harassment and violence.
Themis passed the complaint on to the Berlin Senate Department for Culture, Klaus Dörr's employer, in January 2021.
According to the »taz«, the letter deals, among other things, with allegations of close, intimate physical closeness and contact, as well as erotic remarks and inappropriate text messages.
The newspaper spoke to former employees of Klaus Dörr, and they would confirm the picture drawn in the complaint with Themis.
Dörr himself said in response to a "taz" request that he would "in no way respond to the unsubstantiated and insubstantial accusations."
He hired a lawyer.
Andrea Koschwitz, who was chief dramaturge at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin under Klaus Dörr, tells the newspaper that she informed the senate administration about Dörr's dealings with women before he was appointed artistic director of the Volksbühne.
On March 2, 2021, Klaus Dörr is said to have had a hearing at the Senate Department for Culture because of the ten women's complaints.
An email from Themis confirming this is available to the »taz«.
