After raids and investigations, the rocker group "Gremium MC Southgate" was banned on suspicion of organized crime.
"The association poses a serious threat to individual legal interests and the general public," the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior explained the decision.
Two days earlier, around 160 police officers searched more than a dozen objects belonging to the rocker group in the Karlsruhe district.
Sufficient knowledge was gained in the process.
One of the aims of the raids was to get information about the structure of the association.
Assault, coercion, severe predatory extortion
According to the ministry, “Gremium MC Southgate” or “Chapter Southgate” is a local group of the “Gremium MC Germany” founded in 2015, mainly active in the Heidelberg area, which according to the Ministry of the Interior is the largest criminal rocker group in Germany.
"Gremium MC Germany" strives for territorial and financial power growth within the rocker scene and regularly tries to enforce this by force.
The ministry accuses the group and its members of numerous crimes, including assault, coercion and particularly serious blackmail.
The ban is based on the Association Act.
