In the middle of his living room, a man was startled by an extraordinary accident: a tractor with a slurry tanker had strayed from the street, broke through the house wall and came to a stop with the hood in the room, as a police spokesman said.
The 40-year-old resident was only lucky enough to be uninjured in the accident in the south of Baden-Württemberg on Thursday evening.
The fire brigade and technical aid organization had to support the house in the community of Hoßkirch-Hüttenreute.
As the fire brigade announced, the team first knocked down a street lamp, then drove about 50 meters through the garden and then broke through the wall of the multi-storey residential building.
At that time, the resident was sitting on the sofa in the affected living room.
According to the police, property damage of around 220,000 euros was caused to the building.
It is still unclear why the 29-year-old tractor driver had strayed off the road with his vehicle.
He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
