(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 13 - The number of protesters killed by the police in Burma has risen to six, according to what is learned from testimonies disseminated in the media and suisocial.
Three of the victims were fatally shot and several others were injured in Mandalay, the second largest city in the country, one in the central city of Pyay and two in the main city, Rangoon.
In Pyay, a protester, who asked not to be named and is quoted by various media including the Guardian, says that the police stopped the ambulance trying to reach the injured, letting it pass after some time.
Today's protests against the coup that a month and a half ago put an end to ten years of democracy in Myanmar also marks the anniversary of the massacre of demonstrators during the repression of the previous military government in 1988. (ANSA).
