Three first Covid-19 patients in intensive care in Ile-de-France are transferred this Saturday by helicopter to hospitals in western France, said Frédéric Adnet, director of the Samu de Seine-Saint-Denis.
These patients are evacuated to Nantes, Angers and Le Mans.
“At least four other patients” will be transferred on Sunday, he added.
Objective: to prevent resuscitation services from overflowing in Ile-de-France, the latter receiving a new patient with Covid-19 every 12 minutes.

In order for these patients to be transferred, they must “be in a stable condition” and “the families have given their consent”.
Moreover, if it were decided, a more massive evacuation of patients by TGV would only take place "in the middle of next week" because there is "a huge logistics to put in place", recalled Frédéric Adnet.

Medical evacuations to relieve hospitals
Several massive transfer operations for patients with Covid-19 are in preparation, like those already undertaken from Hauts-de-France to Belgian hospitals in recent days.
A similar device had already been put in place last year, at the height of the epidemic.
