(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 12 - There are more than 500 events of literature, art, theater and music, which will last throughout 2021, disseminated by the network of Italian Embassies and Institutes of Culture for the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation participates in the celebrations planned around the world with a series of initiatives that involve the network of representations abroad: embassies, consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes.
The rich program will be presented in streaming on Wednesday 17 March starting at 10 am on youtube.com/MinisteroEsteri, with the participation of Minister Luigi Di Maio and Secretary General Elisabetta Belloni together with the technical and scientific committee "Dante 700 nel mondo".
The initiatives start in March 2021, also in view of the anniversary of the Tuesday of March 25 and will last until autumn and the appointment with the XXI Week of the Italian Language in the world, from 18 to 24 October 2021, also dedicated to Supreme Poet.
The presentation will be attended, among others, by representatives of MAECI, Andrea Riccardi, president of the Dante Alighieri Society;
Claudio Marazzini, president of the Accademia della Crusca;
Marino Sinibaldi, president of the Center for Book and Reading of the Ministry of Culture;
Carlo Ossola, president of the Committee for Dante's celebrations.
And again Giorgio Bacci, curator of the exhibition 'Dante Ipermoderno' which features works by contemporary Italian and international artists including a work in progress by Mimmo Paladino;
Alberto Casadei, curator of the audiobook project made in 33 languages entitled 'From the dark forest to Paradise';
Marco Martinelli and Ermanna Montanari, creators of the representation 'Dante in the five continents';
Roberto Rea, in the evaluation commission of the project / call for contemporary art 'Cantica21' and by the writer Bianca Garavelli who will present the multimedia installation "Inferno 5".
