Fridays For Future, the youth movement for climata inspired by Greta Thunberg, is organizing World Climate Action Day around the world for Friday 19 March.
There will be face-to-face (in compliance with health regulations) and virtual events, including webinars and social bombing.
Information on events can be found on the Italian map (https://fridaysforfutureitalia.it/mappa) or on the social pages of local groups.
"Politicians and large companies - writes Fridays For Future Italia in a press release - do not miss the opportunity to set emission reduction targets to be achieved in 20 or 30 years, and to promise that, in some distant future, they will do something for tackling the climate crisis. But we need immediate and concrete measures in line with science and the principle of climate justice. These empty promises are useless if they are not followed by immediate action! ".
For FFF "the funds of the Next Generation Eu must be invested in policies to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, the cause of the climate crisis. The effects of the crisis are already under our eyes, and the situation will only get worse.
Only we, people all over the world, can reverse this situation. "
Starting Friday 12, live meetings on social media with special guests will be organized every evening. March 19, the day of the global strike, from 11:15 am at 12 there will be an online meeting with Roberto Mercadini (theatrical actor, writer and youtuber) and Vincenzo Balzani (world famous chemist and popularizer), which can be followed from /fffutu.re/19marzo Social Bombing and Tweetstorm action will follow and live coverage from squares all over Italy to participate remotely.
