(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 13 - The plan of the extraordinary commissioner, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, for the execution of the national vaccination campaign was released today.
The two pillars to conduct a rapid campaign - the government says - are the effective and timely distribution of vaccinations and the increase in daily doses.
The goal is to reach 500,000 daily doses on a national basis, vaccinating at least 80% of the population by September, thus tripling the average daily number of vaccinations in the past weeks, equal to approximately 170,000.
In Italy "to date 7.9 million doses have been procured, which will double within the next three weeks.
Another 52 million doses are expected to arrive by the end of June, while a further 84 million are expected before autumn ", predicts the new vaccination plan of the government.
