"Her death just collapses us"

The late Leah Kirschenbaum, Modi'in Illit | 43 years old at her death

Leah was ill for less than two weeks.

It was so fast.

She fell ill on Sunday, was hospitalized on Saturday night, and died a week later.

It just shatters us, "says her husband, Eli Kirschenbaum. Last January, Leah, 43, a teacher from Modi'in Illit, died after a difficult battle with the corona virus, leaving behind a husband and three children.

Leah was a respected and sought-after kindergarten teacher who ran a private kindergarten in her home.

"She was like a daughter to me," says her mother-in-law, Judith Kirschenbaum.

"She was a lovely mother and a very special teacher. She raised her children in the garden like flowers. An exemplary mother and teacher, she gave her heart to everyone. To this day the children leave us messages on the phone, ask when she comes back and say 'good luck in heaven'."

A week before Leah fell ill, she celebrated her 43rd birthday.

"She was very careful, if she could get vaccinated she would do it, but it was still not possible in terms of her age," says Yehudit.

Eli also says that the virus caught them by surprise.

"We were very careful. Leah was afraid to open the garden, and it turns out she was right."

"Thought they would release her"

At first it seemed that Leah was overcoming the virus.

"They thought she would be released because the indices seemed to be going down," he says, "but then the virus got stronger and she died."

At the funeral he told me about his wife: "She was a great woman from life - everything she touched turned to gold. This week I met a woman who said her daughter to this day 'wants to go to Leah's kindergarten'. She loved children so much. Immediately after the funeral I told our sons we should "To deal with, not to break, but it's hard.

"I do not know how I will manage, I do not know how I will feed the children"

The late Roman Weistrov, Kiryat Gat | 37 years old at his death

"We did not deliver, we simply did not deliver," says Lena, the widow of 37-year-old Roman Weistrov from Kiryat Gat, who died on the eve of Purim due to complications of the corona virus.

Lena tells about her husband, the reason why they did not get vaccinated and how to proceed from here.

Behind every deceased there is an unfortunate story, but this coincidence could not have been predicted.

"I had an unencouraging diagnosis during pregnancy, I had to get the latest vaccine to treat cervical cancer after giving birth," she says, "We then wanted to go together to get vaccinated against corona. He did not want to go without me, had to wait two weeks - because it is not allowed "Double vaccinations. We did not deliver, we simply did not deliver."

She adds that "during pregnancy I had to undergo my treatments. Despite the risk, we were able to keep the child. A year ago I received the frightening diagnosis - one stage before cervical cancer. I started treatments and had the pre-cancerous part removed. We waited the required two weeks after. The birth and the vaccine, and then the story happened with the corona. "

"Was healthy and never complained"

The symptoms appeared in Lena, but over time her condition improved.

On the other hand, Roman suddenly got short of breath.

"I ordered an ambulance for him," says Lena. "Roman was perfectly healthy and never complained. Because there is no post-mortem autopsy of corona, we received three diagnoses: corona, heart, lack of oxygen."

Now, the family is in a difficult situation.

At the age of 37, Lena remains a widow and raises three children - 15-year-old Georgi, 12-year-old Diana and newborn Daniel.

"We did not manage to buy a house, we lost everything," Lena concludes, "I do not know how I will manage, I do not know how to feed them. We always worked, we were happy with the little that was, we did not need help. I have not yet recovered from birth, the five-week-old boy. Everything happened Instantly".

"It's heartbreaking to lose a child like that"

The late Ryan Kablan, Beit Jann | 31 years old at his death

For half of his so short life, Ryan Kablan, 31, of Beit Jann, has been dealing with the heavy mourning that befell his father's death in a 2006 tractor accident.

Ryan was the only eldest son in the Kablan family and after him five sisters were born.

He was born with severe juvenile diabetes but cooperated with the treatments - and led a completely routine lifestyle.

But his father's death led to a severe deterioration in his health and more than once his life was in danger.

"As Dad died he underestimated his health, which deteriorated. He went blind, underwent six foot surgeries and suffered a stroke," says his sister Diana Kablan.

"On one occasion he was hospitalized for half a year in a hospital when he was anesthetized and resuscitated. When he recovered, the doctors did not believe it. They defined him as a medical conference."

It is not clear how he became infected, but the family estimates that it happened when their grandmother visited their home without knowing that she herself was infected with the virus.

"My sister was also in a very difficult situation, but she overcame, and then I took my mother to visit him," Diana adds.

"When we got to the hospital we were told they were doing CPR on someone, but only later did we find out it was him."

"Everyone was connected to him," says his uncle Bian Kablan, who was also head of the Beit Jann local council.

"It's very hard to lose a child like that. It breaks the heart, but that's how fate determined it."

"After he opened his eyes and recognized those around him, there was a deterioration"

The late Yaakov Uriel Atias, Jerusalem | 42 years old at his death

Yaakov Uriel Atias, a resident of Beit Shemesh who did not suffer from background illnesses, contracted corona and passed away last month when he was only 42 years old.

Atias, who was a beloved, pleasant-mannered and hospitable man, left behind three orphaned daughters and also his widow Yocheved, who is in her first months of pregnancy.

Nehama Atias Sharbani, Yaakov's sister, told with deep sadness about her older brother who died of the deadly virus, and came out calling on the public to hurry up and get vaccinated.

"This is a very hard tragedy, a great loss," Nehama said, "Gd gives us severe blows and takes us the best people for us to wake up, take His gift, be chosen alive and go get vaccinated."

She said, "My brother Jacob was a sturdy, tall, healthy man, with no background illnesses. He was very careful of Corona, but infected with his wife. She passed the corona without any problem to her and the fetus. Jacob cared for his wife, infected Corona, and began to weaken him. The girls worried. He was very much treated and treated. He lost his sense of smell and taste as well as his appetite and was apathetic. He turned to Assaf the doctor on Friday and two days later he was put to sleep because his lungs deteriorated. "On Saturday, his condition deteriorated and he died of a blood clot and cardiac arrest as a result of the corona."

"For the upliftment of his soul, get vaccinated today"

Nehama describes her dear brother, who left a huge void when he left: "Yaakov loved peace, loved man from all walks of life, kindness, great knower. A true angel, who raised the girls exemplary. Loves Torah and has a special personality. And you are very much saved for your souls. "My brother Yaakov, go save your lives and the lives of your loved ones. Go get vaccinated today."
