(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 13 - The City of New York launches an investigation into racism in the New York Police Department and undertakes to remove officers unable to carry out their work without prejudice. Mayor Bill de Blasio presented a police reform plan that aims precisely to remove what is called the "structural racism" of the city police by hiring residents among the agents making the police more representative of society's demographics.
The plan comes as De Blasio tries to cement his legacy before his term expires in December.
