(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 13 - A woman accused of refusing to wear a mask on board an Uber and then attacking the driver with pepper spray was arrested in San Francisco.
This was reported by CNN, which publishes the video taken by the camera on the dashboard of the car.
There are three women in the vehicle, all of whom refuse to wear the mask as requested by the driver, of Nepalese origin, Subhakar Khadka.
Malaysia King, 24, is accused of assaulting the man with "a caustic chemical and beating" as well as violating the city's health and safety laws.
The restrictions in place in San Francisco to help spread Covid-19 include the requirement to mask "to cover the mouth and nose" when within 2 meters of someone who is not a member of their family and when using the "public or commercial transport".
In reporting the incident to the police, Khadka, 32, said he stopped a few minutes after getting the three women on because he noticed that one of them was not wearing a mask.
When she told them she couldn't go on until she put it on, an argument broke out.
Once out of the car, the driver said, one of the women sprayed pepper into the open window.
