After a homicide at the main factory of the Tönnies meat company in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in North Rhine-Westphalia, an arrest warrant for manslaughter was issued against a 35-year-old worker.

That is what the police said.

The autopsy of the victim in forensic medicine in Münster confirmed the suspicion that the 34-year-old was killed by a stab in the chest.

The act had occurred on Friday morning in the cutting area of the company.

The police had set up a homicide squad called the Loop.

The suspect has so far been silent on the act and will be represented by a lawyer.

He had been brought to the prison in Bielefeld-Brackwede on remand.

According to a statement from Tönnies, the employee attacked his colleague with a knife.

Emergency chaplains then looked after the eyewitnesses.

Because of forensic evidence, production was suspended for several hours.
